Many kids and adults don't have that luxury, yet still have to cope with all of it..."coping" not always winning out in the long run.

While I realize that people undoubtedly are interested in these celebrities and their ups and downs and babybumps and matrimonial dumps...I, for one, if not that I really "have to" in my situation (the comedy website) - probably wouldn't give these stories (and a lot of times I don't) a second glance...let alone a first one. I think the focus that we should be first and foremost interested in, as a nation, shouldn't be how many times Britney checked and unchecked herself out of rehab...but what is happening in our nation...and what is happening to part of our nation overseas fighting in Iraq...what isn't happening with countries in Africa (and elsewhere) to educate people enough to attempt to battle AIDS, and getting proper healthcare for all citizens who cannot afford it...and long-term care for the elderly.

Things such as these, I believe, should be talked about more...the celebrities can "afford" some time off and out of the limelight.Mariann Simmshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17974827167853824792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24144743.post-83668841774708669972007-02-28T02:36:00.000-06:002007-02-28T02:36:00.000-06:00This comment has been removed by the author.Mariann Simmshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17974827167853824792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24144743.post-59445621630154100722007-02-27T08:47:00.000-06:002007-02-27T08:47:00.000-06:00What shocks me is the lack of compassion towards t...What shocks me is the lack of compassion towards the Michael Jackson's, and Britneys that do this stuff daily unbeknownst to the rest of the world.

When I was 25 I shaved my head and spent about 500.00 on tatoos much less flattering than pigeons or dolphins or whatever Brit has. I may have even experimented with some things that I am now far too wise to be party to.

The watchful eye that has plagued Britney and never allowed for a rebellious youth (that I'm sure we all had) has caught up with her, along with the pressure of raising two children alone.

She will overcome. But needs to accept that a prominent figure crashing and burning is a money maker for any person or entity seeking publicity. The fact that I'm even discussing a celebrity is almost a shameles plug because it will attract attention. So I will post this quasi-anonymously...

GapperAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
